A little while back a friend and I set up Online Banking Reviews, a website that reports on the latest happenings in the world of online banking, plus offers the facility for visitors to leave their own reviews on the major UK Banks. A major faux pas earlier in the year caused a serious ranking issue, with Google picking up a test version of the site within hours and subsequently penalising it harshly with a duplicate content penalty. The thing is it wasn’t duplicating with anything other than itself, on a test domain, that had no-index META tag set… quite why/how it was found I am not sure, but this week we have submitted a third reconsideration request. We should hear back within a week or so as to their response – watch this space!
